History:
Marc Paul Bannick was born on Earth, in 2354, in a small country village outside Manchester, England. Marc grew up tinkering with small engines, and machines, in his grandfather's shop, and soon developed an inherent knack for it. As the years and struggles in the Federation (The Dominion War) went by, in England, and abroad, Marc and his brothers found work at their young ages in warp complexes around Europe.
By the time Marc turned 18, and was old enough to leave the care of his guardians (his Grandparents), he turned to Starfleet, in the Enlisted corps. He applied many times to the Academy, but after his sixth rejection letter came in the mail, he decided to get his but into space one way or another. Marc Bannick enlisted into the Starfleet Engineer Corps, and was offered a posting on the USS Bainbridge, after his twelve week basic training. Learning on the job, and being sent to many technician schools, Bannick honed his skills on the new and faster warp engines of the day.
His four year enlistment in Starfleet ended in 2376, and Marc found himself not wanting to re-enlist. His desire for and education, and a possiblity at Officer Candidate School, appealed to his wants. During his four years at Cambridge University, studying Orbital Engineering, and Warp Application, Marc Bannick found himself yearning for space exploration once more. His need to finish his degree culminated with his dream in the year 2380, when he graduated with his class, earning him a Bachelors of Science in Engineering.
In summer of 2380, following his graduation, and watching his friends and classmates find work throughout the galaxy, Marc himself applied for the Starfleet Officer Candidate for the fall. He was accepted. Marc prepared throughout the summer, and spent time with his aging Grandparents and his brothers Petre and Jailin. Just when he found himself gathering his belongings and Starfleet gear, tragedy happened. His grandfather, Sam Bannick passed away in his sleep, at the age of 81.
Marc decided, as the elder brother, and without his parents to care for and plan the funeral, he turned down the appointment to the OCS. Marc and his brothers took care of the grandmother through the fall and that winter, and helped her though the trying time. As spring came and went, and summer found it's way to England once more, Marc realized it was time to stop putting his life on hold, and get back into space. He found work aboard a civilian shuttle carrier, known as the Starship Destiny, as Assistant to the Chief Engineer. The Chief Engineer was a tired old, cranky, bastard but Marc seemed to be the only one who could impress him. Marc Bannick served aboard the SS Destiny for Three and half years, before he was brought back to Earth for his Grandmother's funeral. Again, he scheduled everything.
As of now; Marc applied to several ship postings, civilian mostly, but has yet to hear back from any of them. He as four years Enlisted experience as Engineer of Warp Systems aboard the USS Bainbridge, four years experience aboard the SS Destiny as Asst. Chief Engineer, and holds a B.S. in Orbital Engineering before joining SS Starfarer.
